CLEARING STORM, MALHAM, YORKSHIRE, 2017
Normally in this area of spectacular limestone features, a modest little hill like Cawden wouldn't merit a second look. But today it was impossible to ignore.
I was high above Malham, making my way towards Goredale Scar while keeping one eye on a large storm over Pendle Hill, a few miles to the south. when a sudden and brief shaft of sunlight illuminated the scene below and taking me completely by surprise.
Fearing I had missed my opportunity, I managed to hurriedly set up the camera just in time for a repeat performance a minute or two later.
