LATE SUMMER, ROSEBERRY TOPPING, YORKSHIRE, 2019
The dominant colour in the British countryside is, of course, green. So much so that by late summer I am always grateful for the sight of a large patch of purple heather in full bloom.
Fortunately Roseberry Topping, one of the most recognisable hills in the north of England, is at the edge of the largest area of heather moorland in England.
A popular area with photographers, I was fortunate on this peaceful August evening to have the place to myself.
