COW AND CALF, ILKLEY MOOR, YORKSHIRE, 2019
This photograph was taken as the result of a request for a picture of the famous Cow and Calf rocks at the edge of the even more famous Ilkley Moor.
It is in black and white for two very good reasons. Firstly, that is what was requested. And secondly, it looked awful in colour! The countryside can look very drab at the tail end of winter.
Incidentally, I have always found it both puzzling and amusing that many people criticise photographers for what they see as falsifying their pictures - "photoshopping", to use the modern and somewhat misleading term - while readily accepting a black and white image as perfectly normal!
